Met the 100+ Mark Today
The OBX 100 Rule: Water temp plus air temp (Fahrenheit) must be equal to or greater than 100. Again, SW winds ramped up during the afternoon hours in Hatteras and the 100 Rule was met...wavesailing time! I decided to take the afternoon off work, and make the trek south after completing a software release this morning. Conditions at Ego Beach included strong SW winds in the 25+ mph range, air temps in the 60s, waist to chest high surf, and cold ocean water hovering in the upper 40s. I rigged a 4.7m and had plenty of power! Caleb Jacobs, Jim Myers, and I enjoyed the afternoon session along with some crazy college spring breakers from New York who were boogie boarding in board trunks and bikinis. They were definitely from up north!
For the Hatteras Wave Crew, three south wind windsurfing days so far in early March!
Here are some more photos:

Caleb rigging up with the college spring breakers in the background. Definitely not warm enough to be running around in board trunks, or boogie boarding in the 45 deg water...unless from NY!

Looks like a good day! The closest this New Yorker has come to 100 is a 91 last week...100 sounds like a treat.
I've cleared it with the wife to come down OBX way to sail sometime between march 18th and 29th. You guys will be in bathing suits by then, right?
:)

Well... I do not know if we will be in trunks by then, but definitely the crazy college spring breakers!
