This is my first "video lesson" post for
Wavesailing 101. A few recent posts on the
IWS Forum noted light wind and traversing whitewater though the surf zone. I had some GoPro footage of this experience and decided to try a narrated instructional "along for the ride" video.

ReplyDeleteGreat Bill! You can't do too many posts like this one. A calm narrative showing your recovery after getting worked would be fun to watch too. Do you ever do the light wind waterstarts where you grab the mast and foot of the sail?
ReplyDeleteVery helpful. Rare to see coverage of the 'real work' behind wave sailing. It certainly help me gain a little more confidence to go out in waves in lighter wind. Would love to see more, in differing conditions. Look forward to hearing your thoughts one you gybe too!

PS: Yea Ken, I often do light air waterstarts as you mentioned with holding the mast and sail foot, and kind of crawling up into position on the board; since I do not use an uphaul line on my rig.
