Nights in Rodanthe Casting Call

This weekend, the upcoming feature film "Nights in Rodanthe" starring Richard Gere and Diane Lane, held a casting call for movie extras. The scenes noted for local extras include a clam bake before an approaching hurricane. The story takes place in modern times during the fall season. Lauren and I attended the casting call, along with hundreds of other people. Yesterday, the line for the interview was said to be about a half mile long, but today when we arrived, it was about 100 feet. The casting director interviewed us and asked questions like "how long have you lived here," "what do you do here," etc... Of course, I mentioned windsurfing and inquired about the scene noting the approaching hurricane. Wouldn't it be interesting if Gere and Lane were out strolling on the beach in the beautiful weather prior to the arriving storm. SW winds are blowing at Salvo Ramp, and some of the wave crew are on the water. They then approach the beach camp of windsurfing vehicles and ask for directions to the clam bake?!

Of course, Caleb would be making a move on Lane... : )

The photo above is Lauren and others in line for the casting call. Perhaps we will be picked?!
