OBX Valentine's Day
Valentine's Day on the OBX included strong west winds, an intimate windsurfing session on Ocracoke Island, and steak au poivre with garlic mashed potatoes and individual chocolate fallen cake with raspberry sauce and whipped creme.
Charlie reported that the session on Ocracoke was the best of the year thus far with clean side off conditions and wave faces in the 5 to 9 ft range. Dan and he were the only ones to catch it on the south end of Ocracoke. I was swamped with a software build and could not take off work, and others in the crew were not sure whether it would happen. Air temps were chilly in the mid 40s but the water, as reported from Charlie, hovered in the 60s. He noted it as a fun time and spent about three hours on the water. I will have to add a "Missed It" to my calendar! No photos from the session were reported.
The Valentine's dinner was something I did not miss. Lauren and I cooked up an excellent feast and enjoyed all courses of our V Day dinner. Steak au poivre with garlic mashed potatoes, spinach with pear salad, and individual chocolate fallen cake with raspberry sauce and whipped creme. Pure indulgence!
