Hurricane Irene, An Eye Wall View?!

As Hurricane Irene motors toward the OBX, the current forecast track appears to take the eye of the storm nearly directly over the islands! With a possible day time impact on Saturday we will see conditions deteriorate quickly as wind speed increases and rain/nasty weather fill in.  An interesting element will be the eye wall and whether we will see the eye pass over head.  Clearing skies and sunshine breaking in from the middle of the storm would be a surreal experience.  Not that I am looking forward to experiencing the northern eyewall, but as a natural event directly impacting this area, it will be both frightening and exhilarating.  Though likely best to leave the scenes of impact to the news media who will have personalities dramatically reporting "live" from a wind/rain blasted hotel balcony.

Time to fuel up the cars, stock up on some supplies, clear the decks of all small/loose stuff, and ensure we have a clean space to minimize flying debris.

PS:  hopefully, the storm forecast track takes it further east and away from the islands!

PPS:  Killer wavesailing possibly on tap for Thursday, hopefully at Coquina Beach!?!
