What a day and what a wipeout for Caleb Jacobs during this Spring-time wave sesh back in early April! The water was quite cold, and I remember Caleb noting that he was done following the long swim as a result of the wave aerial wipeout. Great shot though, and congrats to Yana for capturing it!

Yea, looks like a lot of blue stars in the forecast to start off 2010 on the OBX! Too bad they are all blue! I guess I will need to make sure my hot tub water is ready for the post-sesh warmup!
Re the photo contest, yea it was a surprise this year. I too thought Header 4 would take it, but Header 1 was the clear winner with a majority vote. All were great shots, and the winning header was quite a fun day with some of the biggest surf which hit the islands in 2009. Actually the header with Charlie riding out ahead of that big wave was shot on the same day in Avon. Killer stuff!
Hopefully, 2010 will bring more for us to enjoy!

Hmm, Photo 1 definately a wipeout, Photo 4 most probably ended up a wipeout, Photo 2 has no perspective, it could be from Jockeys Ridge or the Hole. That leaves Photo 3 as the best wavesailing shot of the group, and the one I'd want to hang on the wall.
For pure acion though you've got to admit, Caleb has the best wipeouts on the island. Congrats to the Westchester Shredder.

whys isnt the guy in header 3 bottom turning? hes looking forward and his mast is straight up and down,id be laying it down and having a stare down with that lip!
