A Long Cold OBX Winter, However...
It has been a long time since my previous blog post. There simply has not been much action here except for cold weather and colder water. We are far below the "100 Rule" and have been since basically mid-Dec, 2010. There have been a few forecasts where air temps were predicted to crack 60 degrees; however, with the near freezing water temperatures surrounding the islands, a cold fog usually persists and any "warmth" is stamped out by the cold water. All in all, this is the coldest winter I have experienced on the OBX given my nearly 20 yrs here.
While the windsurfing gear remains cold and dry, I have moved into a new home office! The office was completed in early January and has a killer view of the Nags Head Woods Nature Preserve. Working from home has never been better and now with the new office, its great to have a nice view along with enjoyable work and sometimes play space.
Here are a few photos from the new office. Note, it remains a work in progress as for setup, but basically the important stuff is there!
