July Wrap Up and Upcoming Hatteras Wave Fest 2008!!

July is a wrap on the OBX, and we had a number of windy days! I missed many of them due to a vacant engine in the 4runner. However, now my 1988 4runner has new life and is back on the road with a new engine for many future trips to catch sessions in Hatteras!

Likely the biggest "Missed it!" of the month was the Cristobal Cove session on July 20. Awesome that Keith and Caleb caught it, since it would have been waste if those waves were not ridden! Unfortunately, access was closed at that time; however, now access is open so we can at least park nearby and walk our gear to the Cove if a SE tropical session returns. Additionally we had the second Bermuda High of the summer during the first weekend of July. Many windy SW days!

Ready for a Hatteras Wave Festival?!
The 2008 Hatteras Wave Fest web site has launched! The event is scheduled for Sept 15 - 29, 2008! The new web site similarly models the Hatteras Loop Fest site; however, includes new features such as registrant profile management and an online forum including real-time chat! Once registered, you can update your profile to include photos, flash video, and rich text content. Additionally, once registered, future events will be easy to choose for participation as new modules are added to the site. This will be the site build by windsurfers for windsurfers to promote bi-annual windsurfing festivals in Hatteras!
