Kelly's St Patty's Day Parade

click to enlarge - parade actionToday, Kelly's Restaurant hosted the annual St Patty's Day Parade in Nags Head. The beach road was packed with people lining the street to watch everything from monster trucks to marching bands. Lots of beer and festivities during the parade with an outdoor post-parade party at Kelly's Restaurant. The weather was perfect for the event with sunny skies, 55 deg air temps, and a brisk north wind.

Actually, there was some windsurfing down in Avon in the 4.7m range around mid day, but it did not last long as the winds tapered off by afternoon. All in all, a perfect late winter/early Spring weekend on the OBX!

What is an OBX parade without at least one monster truck!
