Warm Water Just Off the Coast!
Its been a while since my last post. There has not too much action here on the OBX as far as water sports, though I have enjoyed seeing the kona action in Maui last week (giampaolo's blog), and the cold water/ice action up north (Peconic Puffin)! All in all, it looks like there is some winter time fun to be found with a windsurfing rig in hand!
On the OBX, we are banking on Wednesday! Its Valentine's Day and will be the first mid 60s F air temp day in a long time. Of course the winds are forecast to be strong out of the SW. Hopefully it will all come together, plus of course the warm water too! The image shows upper 60s to near 70 deg water temps just offshore of Cape Hatteras yesterday. Hopefully the warm currents will be in close to shore on Wednesday if everything aligns!

Those offshore waters look tempting! Just offshore on Long Island it warms up too...all the way to the high 30's!
My wife has had it with me sailing into ice and on top of ice, so we're off to Aruba in a few days. But I have OBX on my mind. May your forecast for Valentines Day hold!
