Labor Day Weekend and the Hatteras Surf Arrives!!

hanging out at the point/spit after some fun times in the surf! photo: Keith MAugust is over, and with it an end to Lake Atlantic. The late summer tropical induced surf of September is here, and Labor Day weekend offered up plenty of super clean, fun lines to ride on the southern facing beaches. From Cape Point to Ocracoke, world class super clean long lines generated by TS Hanna were found! Surfboards and windsurfing gear was packed together this past weekend!

Beyond words, check out the GoPro video report:

Bill-that sand in Ocracoke looks firm enough to be able to drive on it w/o 4wheel drive?

Yea, you can drive 2WD out onto the beach at the north end access on Ocracoke, especially if you have some clearance and do not spin the rear or front wheels. Additionally, there is a paved parking lot very close to the ramp access where you can rig and walk your gear out.

"Lake Atlantic"...well put.

Up north we may get our first wind in almost six weeks this weekend. Waves too.

We all deserve some.
