Perhaps if You Were Up Early This Morning?!
It has been over 10 days since the NE three day treat at the beginning of October. Since then, we have not had any decent wind until this morning. I checked IWS at 9:00am and all the meters were reporting NW wind in the mid-20s range gusting over 30 mph! No calls from any of the local wave crew, but I assume it was because the ocean has been "Lake Atlantic" lately. If today was tomorrow (Sat morning, aka no work), I would have caught it at Jockey's Ridge as NW is a fun direction for swell riding/jumping. By the time I had a chance to check it around lunch time, the local Eclipse kite crew were packing up and reported dying winds. Oh well, another "Missed It" for the calendar, though with no surf today, its not a big "missed it!"
The forecast does not look too promising either for any decent OBX wind in the near future, but hey...its the Pigman's Barbecue party tomorrow, so I may have to check that out!
