Hanna Wavesailing, Day One

The Cove was the call today with most of the local crew (minus Andy!) along with a few visiting sailors. Conditions were quite fun with a sizable yet "easy" outside wave shared by both windsurfers and kiteboarders. The forecast for strong E wind never materialized, and we spent the session in moderately powered 5.3m conditions. However, the sun shined most of the day with only some intense rain in the morning. All in all, not "epic" Cove (in restrospect, actually it was pretty epic Cove!!), but not too shabby either! For more including photos from today at the Cove, check out George's Live 2 Sail post. He drove down last night to catch it!

Tomorrow, the forecast calls for some intense conditions! IWS forecast is "purple" which means some really strong winds?! Right now at 11:00pm in Nags Head, all is calm, but we shall see later tonight/tomorrow morning?!

Stay tuned!

"all in all, not an 'epic' cove session?" come on, bill, I'd say it was a pretty damn good session. So the sun might not have been shining too bright, the wind might've been too offshore, and the average wave height might have only been about head-high --- but the plain fact of the matter is some of the rides were at least 4-500 yards long. While pictures can sometimes lie, the photos of keith on the wave show how good it was. Let's not be so pessimistic here guys ;). -Stuart

Your right Stuart!

It was pretty damn EPIC, and was even better after you left!! I was out there until 6:00pm and caught many fun sizable waves throughout the day!! The lighter wind only kept the jumps in the wave zone to a minimum, though there were some big ones flown on the outside!

Definitely in the top 3 best wavesailing sessions of the year so far!
