TS Noel South Swell Coming In!

TS Noel Forecast Track From National Hurricane CenterUPDATE: Charles L came up with an excellent idea...a demo run of the Hatteras Wave Challenge starting tomorrow though Saturday.
Given the swell from TS Noel and the forecast winds, we should have perfect conditions for a unique new competition format. Stay tuned!

Looks like Friday is the call for TS Noel to brush the OBX! IWS and WindGuru are calling for strong NE wind, and with the storm steaming north from the Bahamas, a solid south swell should be on tap! If Ocracoke is going to happen this year, the setup forecast for Friday looks like a winner! All camera batteries will be fully charged!

Hopefully you anonymous!

I have plenty of GoPros to pass around to whoever wants to take one out!

Give me one, i'll stop by your house around 1am when i get into town as i won't see you tomorrow in Ocracoke, since you'll be at the LH, right?

BTW, come to think of it, you should come down, as the north end of ocracoke will just be mind boggling....

Hopefully, NOT at the Lighthouse?!

I assume that TS Noel will throw something other than knee slappers at the southside beaches.

Only drawback is tide. High tide is mid afternoon Friday, therefore the North End of Ocracoke may be under water. Though only thing there is a full parking lot, rather then vehicles on the beach.

There's already a solid chest to head high swell hitting the south side, the bouy's reading 7 ft at 9 sec... with a major build forecasted this afternoon... There will certainly be more than knee slappers by tomorrow!

Forecast is looking more North than NE. Is that straight offshore in Ocracoke or does it still work?

Better hurry up Emmanuel, the road might wash out before you get here!

Hey Andy anyone can do a Willy Skipper on the water, ever see Emo spin the car 180 slide backwards for 1/4 mile then 180 back to 100mph like nothing ever happened? He'll make it there, trust me. Hope to see out on the water with us.

Whew! I'm so glad the road isn't washed out yet. Off to the beer store to stock up for tomorrow. I'm looking forward to seeing the video Back Flop shoots from the beach at the north end when he can't get out because it is "unsailable".

I cam't believe you guys are getting so worked up about old man conditions. Caleb and I are gonna be at the LH with Olaf and the "real" sailors on this island. I'm not talking about the string puppets here! You'll see the shakey video tommorrow. Be ther or be square guys.

I'm looking forward to the Hatteras second string team coming down to Ocracoke. Hopefully they have been practicing for the big game with the starting guys!
