Day One SW at Ego/Old Road

Today was the first of a forecasted multi-day SW event on the OBX! A long period swell graced the east facing beaches providing sizable surf in the overhead high range. Billy E, Keith M, and I caught it at Ego/Old Road. Conditions were big set waves and 20+mph SW wind. Inside current was swirling with a mini-Diamond Shoals formed between the beach and the first bar. Incoming/outgoing waves were breaking into each other producing rocketing whitewater during the sets. Water conditions could have been better, but for March, we will take it.
