The Beast of the East Wave FaceOff - You Vote!

UPDATE: 10/15/2008 In order to choose the top three places, we will need three polls to place the slots. Please cast your votes for all three places including 1st, 2nd, and 3rd! Voting will end Oct 21.

Well, lack of solid wind kept the contest from its intended glory this past weekend; however we had 5 participants to battle it out on the beach near the Graveyard of the Atlantic Museum at the Hatteras ferry docks. Winds were light in the mid-upper teens/low twenties from the NE. A decent swell produced some fun set waves, though the tide was not on our side. No matter though, we had sailors ready to hit it and photographers shooting!

The judging is up to you the visitor. Below are slide shots of the top picks from the five competitors. Each competitor chose his favorite 10 shots from a collection of over 800 photos shot during the session! Thanks to Dale B and Jim M for capturing the action! Vote for the your top rider choice using Bill's OBX Poll (left column) from the galleries below to name the 2008 Beast of the East Wave FaceOff champ. The voting window will last for one week and results will be posted online following the voting window. Good luck to the participants!
