Hatteras Wave Challenge Demo

This is the first demo of the Hatteras Wave Challenge in the discipline of Wave Kiteboarding. Yesterday the kite crew scored a killer session in Buxton where all were ripping in the overhead high set waves! Lane Du Pont covered the photo essence of the day amongst the riders on the water.

GS, Tommy, Bryan, and Matt were on the tap displaying some of the best wave kiting Hatteras has to offer. See the photo galleries below and vote for your top rider in the OBX Beach Life Poll.

Strapless and w/out baggies hiding his huge cajones! I vote Tommy on his pure surf style!

Hmmm....
A bunch of guys being dragged across the wave by their kites. Not much in the way of surfing going on. That being said, I'd have to vote for Bryan. He looks like he is best at riding the wave with the most "slack" in his lines. Which I think implies that he is using the wave to generate speed, not just letting the kite pull him across the face.
What other criteria are we supposed to look at? Are these supposed to be "wave riding" scores, or just total style points. Strapped vs. Strapless? At least Caleb attempts to catch air off the top, If one of them had landed an air off the lip I would have to have given them my vote. For now Bryan is my choice.

I believe its a combination of wave riding and style. For the final HWC, the criteria to vote on will be broken out individually and averaged, but for the demo, its based on a combination of all.

The real Ron Paul:

Well, in my opinion, Ron Paul is the "lesser of all the evils..." from both the Republican and Democratic side. Key factor also is he "tells it like it is" and does NOT appear to be a beacon for hypocrisy, like all the other "front-runners."

Good one. You should try and google Ron Paul Hypocrisy once in a while. It's eye opening.

Sorry about the dig but when you put it on your site it's worth a response.

No problem on the political comments. The entire US political game is worse that watching Entertainment News Live! Not sure if it has always been this crazy, but the "lesser of all evils" seems to fit for Ron Paul, most especially on the Republican front.

Who knows what the future will hold with whatever cat takes the US policy reins?!

I think Ron Paul is a closet teabagger. Can't imagine Hillary at the beach. Thought I saw Barack at an ABK clinic once. Edwards would be afraid to get his hair wet. Why don't we all just admit that if Trip were President things would be dandy.

I really miss John Kerry

I think that the beauty of kite surfing, as in riding waves, is that it is not about who is better or about competions, but about pushing yourself and gear as hard and as deep as you can.... Hats off to all the guys out pushing our sport to new limits in the waves and opening the eyes of windsurfers and surfers everywhere.

IMHO,wavekiting backside looks lame,if you can redirect a kite you should be bottom turning on your toeside for the best control and power i dont care if your goofy, regualr, gay,bi,or hetero(this does not apply to surfing)...Caleb
